five Ways to Make Your Airport Experience Better

five Ways to Make Your Airport Experience Better

Traveling is a lot of fun but getting to your destination via an airport can be a very frustrating experience even for seasoned travelers. While you don't have any control over the airport itself or the TSA's actions, you can be better prepared and take a lot of the stress out of flying by following these simple tips.

one. Airport Parking

How many times have you gotten to the airport well ahead of your scheduled flight time only to find that the closest (and most expensive) airport parking lots were full? If you're like many travelers, you may have even missed your flight while you circled around and around the airport looking for an empty lot and then waited quite some time for a shuttle to take you to the terminal.

Why leave it to chance? You can guarantee you'll have a parking space and that you'll find a shuttle to get you to the terminal on time if you opt for offsite airport parking. Book it ahead of time and you'll not only save money, you'll save lots of time - and stress.

two. TSA Pat Down/Search

Unfortunately, that TSA agent at the airport is going to do what he or she has been trained to do, no matter how uncomfortable it may be for you. The best way to avoid being singled out for a pat down or search? Be smart about what you wear and what you've got in your pockets. Dress simply and leave the fancy jewelry at home - or pack it in your suitcase. Take everything out of your pockets, even tissues or money. And certainly don't try to get by with a pair of scissors or lighter or nail clippers; these all belong in your carry on luggage if you simply must take them.

The less there is to examine, the better your chances of making it through the TSA line without getting searched.

three. The Security Line

Seasoned travelers are unsympathetic toward people who aren't prepared to go through security at the airport. Don't be one of those infrequent travelers who holds up the entire line. Wear shoes that slip off easily, have your documentation in hand (a document holder with a strap is a great way to keep your papers and ID organized), and be prepared to take your laptop out of its case. The more prepared you are beforehand, the quicker it will be for everyone to get through the security checkpoint.

four. Boarding Pass

Why go to the trouble and stress of waiting in line at the airport to get your boarding pass? If you've got access to a computer, it's a real time saver to print out your boarding pass ahead of time and then just proceed directly to the gate. If you don't have computer access, try opting for one of those self check-in kiosks most airlines these days provide.

five. The Airport Lounge

It used to be that only preferred fliers could use the comfortable, private airline lounges that allow travelers to relax before their flight is called. Today you can usually pay a daily or even hourly fee to use these facilities. It might be worth the one-time cost in exchange for avoiding the crowds at the terminal while leisurely sipping a beverage and reading the newspaper. Who wouldn't choose comfort over stress?

Traveling by air can be a very trying experience but by using these tips to make your time at the airport less stressful, you'll begin your trip on a positive, rather than negative, note.

The TSA After a Decade ....

                                           The TSA After a Decade....

A report was recently released by US Congressional leaders that highlighted 10 years of Transportation Security Agency (TSA) operational mismanagement and procedural failures. "A Decade Later: A Call for T S A Reform," stresses the need for changes in the Transportation Security Agency.

Originally, the TSA was created to be a lean agency. Its original charter was to analyze intelligence, set security standards and oversee the security structure of US transportation.

But according to US Rep. John L. Mica (R-FL) and Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, "Unfortunately, TSA has lost its way...It has strayed from its security mission and mushroomed into a top-heavy bureaucracy that... has 65,000 employees."

Mica goes on to note that while US travelers are safer today, very little of that can be attributed to the TSA. Instead much of the credit goes to the vigilance of citizens, the installation of reinforced cockpit doors and other factors. For example, the shoe bomber, the underwear bomber, the Times Square bomber and the toner cartridge bomb plot were halted because of the work of the actions of flight crews and the help of foreign agencies

In fact, reports suggest that more than 24,990 security breaches have occurred in US airports since 2001. The missteps of the agency have occurred, according to government officials, because of too much emphasis on political correctness and not enough push for resources to be put on intelligence including technologies that could be more efficient at catching terrorists. The thinking is that travelers are taking the brunt of poorly designed programs that inconvenience and outrage them instead of identifying and preventing terrorist's actions.

The agency has faced heavy turnover, neglect as part of the 21 other Department of Homeland Security Agencies and a lack of priority in naming a new administrator after the position became vacant. It has been alleged to be "misguided, overly bureaucratic and mismanaged" according to US Rep Jason Cha-ffetz (R-UT). He is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, Homeland Defense and Foreign Operations of the House Oversight Committee.

Regarding technology, the report charged that the T S A has obligated over $8 billion on screening technology that has been poorly deployed, useless or is sitting idle because no one can operate it.

The report includes a complete review of how the T S A has operated over the last decade plus a list of recommendations to improve the troubled agency. The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee prepared the report.

TSA Approved Travel Containers --Fly Through Security With TSA Approved Containers

TSA Approved Travel Containers - Fly Through Security With TSA Approved Containers

TSA approved travel containers

If you have ever been delayed through airport security, you know that having the right travel containers can really help you breeze through security. As regulations in the airline industry have continued to tighten, it has made finding the right approved travel containers even more important. Before you buy new toiletry containers, become acquainted with the current TSA regulations.

According to the TSA each airline passenger is allowed to carry on:

One-quart zip-top bag
Containing 3.4 ounce (100ml) bottles or less (by volume)

Considering these regulations, there are a few ways you can go about finding the right TSA approved travel containers for your trip.

Buy small pre-filled TSA approved containers

Inexpensive - many quality brands come in sample size for right around $1 each

Can be inflexible - you might not be able to find your favorite brands

Hard to refill - many of these containers have tiny openings making them difficult to reuse

Buy empty travel containers

Flexible - fill with your desired product. This is great if you like a specific brand of toiletry item that is hard to find in sample size.

Expensive - some TSA approved travel containers can be expensive, especially if they are intended to be reused.

Reusable -many of these containers are designed to be easy to reused with large openings and easy to clean materials. This can help offset some of the costs associated with reusable containers.

If you decide to go with purchasing empty containers, think about what they should be made out of. Cheap plastic containers can be prone to cracking. Silicone or rubber containers, while slightly more costly, can be much more durable and easy to refill for future use.

GoGear Containers are my personal favorite. They come in various colors and are made of durable silicone. They have wide screw top openings for easy refilling and have leak resistant caps. Their flexible material makes for easy packing as they are able to fit into odd spaces. Go Gear Containers are available in 1.25 ounce, 2 ounce, and 3 ounce sizes-all of which meet TSA 's requirements for airline use.

Whatever type of container you choose, make sure that they abide by the 3.4 ounce rule and are placed in a clear quart size zip-top bag. If you follow these rules regarding TSA approved travel containers, you should be through security in no time!

TSA Approved Laptop Bags

                                                        TSA Approved Laptop Bags

As far as travel luggage goes, you can carry any type of laptop bag you so desire, but it should be noted that carrying the right type of bag will serve to speed up the boarding process. The question that many people have right now however is just what constitutes TSA approved travel bags. There are obviously quite a few choices on the market, but there are a few specific things that you need to take into account when you are making your purchase:

* Your laptop bag needs a designated laptop only section so that the laptop can be easily viewed on the X-Ray machine.
* In the event your bag needs to be opened, the laptop only section should unfold to become completely visible and lay flat on the belt.
* Avoid having pockets inside the laptop only section as these tend to obstruct the scanner's view of the laptop in question.
* Interior snaps, zippers, and buckles will block the view of the laptop only section.

These are just a few of the things that you will need to take into account, but you need to remember that choosing the right bag can easily make or break your vacation. The biggest problem with choosing the wrong bag is the fact that you could easily find yourself delayed for several hours as TSA questions you or even goes through your bags.

Something to note is that TSA officials know precisely what the interior of a laptop should look like, and they will know whether or not the electronics have been tampered with. They will need a perfectly unobstructed view of the machine to make this determination, and if they cannot, then you will be searched.

While there are plenty of checkpoint friendly bags on the market it should be noted that the bag design will never be endorsed by TSA e ven though they have released specifications for their checkpoint friendly bags. That being the case, you are subject to search, regardless of the bag design. The design will give you a better chance of course, but there are no guarantees in either life or air travel, and this is precisely what you need to remember when you are walking through the airport terminal.

Going through the trouble of finding TSA approved laptop bags might seem to be an unnecessary hassle, but it should be taken into account that the TSA and the FAA are only attempting to keep passengers safe. In the long run there is a strong chance that you would rather land at your destination safely carrying TSA bags than blown out of the sky because someone failed to perform the proper routines.

TSA Locks. T S A looks after mainly land and air transport securities and checking the bags of air travelers are one of their main tasks.

Ever since the event of 9/11, our idea of air travel has changed so much. We have much tighter securities in each airport and stricter carry-on baggage regulations, such as restrictions on amount of liquid you can take on board.

Transport Security Administration, also known as TSA was founded in United States soon after 9/11 event to strengthen the security of country's transportation systems.

T S A looks after mainly land and air transport securities and checking the bags of air travelers are one of their main tasks.

TSA electronically screens millions of bags for explosives and other dangerous items everyday at more than 7010 locations in over 460 airports in United States. TSA are allowed to access passenger's baggage without passenger being present. Which means, if your bags are locked, TSA can use force to open your bag to examine the contents.

I believe the following questions will Come to your mind. "Shall we stop locking our suitcases?" "We can understand the importance of national security but what about the problem like common thefts?"

TSA has worked with several companies to develop the special locks, which allow passengers to secure the contents of their bags from thefts and also allow TSA to unlock and examine the contents by using universal master keys. Those locks are usually called TSA locks or TSA approved locks.

Travel Sentry and Safe Skies are the major suppliers for TSA approved locks and you can easily identify their logos on their products. Travel Sentry has diamond shape logo and Safe Skies has an Olympic torch like logo. The both companies make several types of TSA approved locks and the most common ones are padlocks. Some padlocks have a tiny little indicator on them, which tells you if your suitcase has been opened for examination or not.

Recently, the suitcase which has built-in TSA lock is getting very popular for travelers. Those suitcases are available from many major suitcase brands, such as Samsonite, Delsey, Victo-rinox, Rim-owa and many more.

My advice to travelers is, 'Use T S A locks but do not forget the unlock combination.' since I had a hard time remembering mine and ended up trying 999 combinations. I also recommend to try setting up the unlock code a day or two before your departure date and test it if it works

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear." - Ambrosia Red moon

                                                                   THE TSA

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that some thing else is more important than fear." - Ambrosia Red moon

So, the government wants to fondle your nether regions. Why? Because they can. And why can they? Because us retards let them. Had enough yet? Think that the Constitution is still in operation? Think this is still a free country? Think you still have any Civil Rights left? Then why is some dude making $12 an hour squeezing your wife's tits and taking nekid pictures of your teenage daughter? Every time I think I've hit the bottom of the deep well of cynicism in my soul the world proves me wrong.

Brothers and sisters, let's have a little reality check here. The primary directive of any government is to insure it's own power and enrich it's own employees. Our wise and wonderful founders knew this all too well. That's why most of the constitution explains what the government CAN'T do rather than what it can. Oh sure, the government does a bunch of necessary stuff but first it amasses power to itself using ANY MEANS NECESSARY. When's the last time the government passed a law to give you more rights at the expense of legislative power? Or for that matter when's the last time you heard any politician say "Everything is cool. You're safe and the world is improving"? Thought so. Mostly they lie and scare you. Commies are infiltrating everything! Black people will take over! Hippies are going to send us to hell! Moslems hate us! Mexicans are beheading people in the desert! Drugs are undermining society! Sex on tv is destroying the fabric of the family! Gay people are killing marriage! Al-qaeda is gonna blow up everything! Different things are scary and the world is a horrible and dangerous place! Run, run for the hills! We'll protect you by declaring war. War on drugs, war on illegal immigrants, war on porn, even war on terror itself. You can't be against that, can you? Do you like terror?

Here's a little newsflash: ANY TIME THE GOVERNMENT CAN TAKE YOUR RIGHTS BY SCARING YOU, THEY WILL. Sometimes they do it to make themselves rich, sometimes to insure reelection, and sometimes because they're stupid and scared themselves. Here's another newsflash: MOST OF THE STUFF THE GOVERNMENT DOES WON'T MAKE YOU ONE BIT SAFER. Sorry. They can never have that much power. No one does. I can't decide which I think is funnier; the fact that after many years of constant civil rights erosion people have finally drawn the line at sexual assault or the fact that up to 80% of Americans are siding with the TSA. Okay, I'll play along. Let's examine the current full body scan controversy. What are the facts?

* The full body scan is clearly a violation of personal privacy. The government does not have the right to take nekkid pictures of you. End of story.

* The scans violate lots of other laws. Taking nude pictures of minors is illegal. Distribution of images without consent is illegal. And don't tell me no one sees them. 100's of them have been leaked to the web.

* The full body pat down is an illegal search. Buying a ticket does NOT constitute reasonable cause.

* Forced fondling is a sexual assault in every fucking state. Don't believe me that this qualifies? Then why are rape survivors breaking down into hysterics when subjected to it?

* The scans and searches accomplish absolutely nothing. Not one person has been convicted of anything based on a scan. Not one past attack would have been prevented. The TSA isn't even clear on what they're looking for.

* T S A agents receive almost no training before using the equipment or performing the pat downs. They don't even know what they're looking for.

* Israel, home to the most secure airports in the world, don't use either one. Because they don't work.

* The last few big terrorist attacks in Europe have been on trains and subways. The government knows you're scared of flying and will agree to any damn thing in an airport even though the real threat might be elsewhere.

* 9/11 sucked, no question about it. But let's put it behind us. In the great scheme of history it is NOT as important as lot of other things. And it's being used against us by the government every fucking day.

So let's sum up. The scans are pointless and illegal. The pat downs are sexual assault and accomplish nothing. Still don't believe me? Cogitate upon the following fact. Pilots have to go through the process. Why? What in the hell would a pilot be sneaking onto the plane in his underoos? If the pilot wants to hijack or crash the plane he doesn't need explosives, HE HAS THE STEERING WHEEL. So exactly how are you one teeny bit safer? Face it, you're standing there with your shoes in your hands and some strangers hand in your crotch for NO GOOD REASON. Oh, there is a reason, just not a very good one. During one of the much televised confrontations a TSA agent is overheard telling a passenger "you don't have any civil rights once you buy a ticket and enter the airport". Really? Why not? Says who? Oh, and FUCK YOU!

No government official has disagreed with this rather broad statement. So there's your explanation. It's an excuse to further remove your rights and augment their power. What's next? Train stations and subway cars? Malls and festivals? Wanna get groped and have your purse searched at the grocery store? Why not, you might be in danger there too. Once you agree that the government can suspend your constitutional rights in order to make you marginally safer you'll have a very difficult telling them to limit themselves. The only answer is to say "Fuck you, I'll tolerate the risk rather than give up my freedom". And apparently most o f america is too damn weak to do that.

If you're one of the 80% telling the vapid reporter "Well, I guess it's worth it in order to be safe" then you're a lost cause. If sexual assault doesn't seem like a good place to stand up, nothing will. Just hand over your remaining free will at the nearest government office and go back to living like the slave that you are. If you're one of the people who just woke up to civil rights reality when the cold fingers of the law started spreading your butt cheeks, don't just stand there. Do something.

I don't fly. I haven't been on a plane since 9/11. I won't give up my civil rights just because I contracted with a private company to carry me to another airport. I'd love to go to Mexico with friends next year, but I won't. I drive to LA and Vegas and I may drive cross country next summer to go to NY. It's inconvenient, but since soldiers are dying for my free dom, it seems like the least I can do. You could do it too. Stop flying. Ever. It might mean some personal sacrifice but think how much fun it would be. Huge corporations like airlines and jet fuel companies would start losing lots of money. Then we'd get to watch the government freak out when their corporate overlords demanded changes that, in their words, would make us unsafe. Good times. And who knows, it might start a trend. Standing up for Civil Rights might catch on. And that's how revolutions begin. Va-ya con Dias and Viva la Revolution!

five Tips for Increasing Your Level of Safety and Self-Defense in These Uncertain Times

five Tips for Increasing Your Level of Safety and Self-Defense in These Uncertain Times

Everywhere it seems, people share their concerns about "what the world has come to." With battles raging both across the sea in far-off lands and here on our own streets, it seems that more and more people are looking to the government to make them more safe and secure.

This, however, is the wrong Place to be Looking. As Harsh as it Sound, when it comes to self-defense and so-called "homeland security," the responsibility for personal security and safety rests with the individual - not with the government.

While we, as citizens, can do little more than show our support for the thousands of troops fighting our country's many battles around the world, each of us can take a more proactive role in dealing with the hostilities and assaults that are going on all around us right here at home.

Here's a list of 5 tips for anyone who wants to make themselves more safe and secure, regardless of whether they're traveling or staying at home. This list is part of the "10 Tips for Increasing Your Level of Safety and Self-Defense", available from Warrior Concepts International's website.

Tips for Increasing Your Ability to Survive Danger

ONE. Acknowledge that danger exists in your world and has the potential of touching you or someone that you care about. Ignorance, when it comes to avoiding and escaping from danger, is not bliss.

TWO. Stay informed about the types of dangers, Including criminal activity, prevalent in areas where you find yourself. Knowing what you're most likely to face is the first step to being able to handle it should it happen.

THREE. Establish multiple routes to and from the places you frequent most. As a minimum, everyone should have at least two routes to and from home and Work. This makes it more difficult for you to be pinned down by someone who knows your routine.

FOUR. Acknowledge that it's your responsibility, not that of the Police, to keep yourself safe. As a former police officer I know that the police cannot keep you safe from anyone who truly wants to harm you. Realize that you, and you alone, will be the first one "on the scene" of the assault or other danger and responsible for dealing with the attack.

FIVE. Learn a few tactics for effectively avoiding or escaping from Danger that do not require physically fighting with your assailant. There are some very good books and videos available, like "Danger Prevention Tactics: Protecting Yourself Like a P ro," that can provide professional advice you can use to keep yourself more safe and secure.

In Today's often violent world, self-defense is no longer a choice - it's a responsibility. Accepting the reality that, with the addition of terrorism to the ever-present threat of gang activity, drug wars, and the myriad of other crimes of violence, it's each person's responsibility to be personally capable of defending themselves should that need arise.

Budget-Friendly Website With C M S internet Page Design TIPS

Budget-Friendly Website With C M S internet page Design TIPS

Do not let the word budget turn you off. Not all things priced low are inferior. Despite common-place disappointments in many "budget" services today, you can still get quality deliveries for costs lower than what you may be accustomed to.

In terms of business technology solutions, Content Management System (C M S) is the budget-friendly alternative to traditional expensive web design and development services. Traditional services often require developers to build websites from scratch. When pre made components are available, they may have to be purchased which could consequently inflate development fees.

Furthermore, once the website is deployed, a professional developer or a technically skilled webmaster would have to be hired in order to do updates or content editing.

C M S's take away most of the development time and costs because components come already p re--made and the systems themselves and many essential extensions are available for free. Developers' work is, therefore, confined to designing, assembling the components and building custom add-ons for specialized needs.

Most C M S's also come with a highly intuitive WYSIWYG editor, where very little technical skills are required. Editing and managing contents can be as easy as word processing.

Advantages of a CMS

To further understand all the benefits you can get from C M S's here is a break-down of their key characteristics:

Open Source. Although proprietary C M S's are available, many developers recommend open-source systems. Being open-source means that the source codes are open to all developers and that they are free to modify them according to their needs. This makes customizing sites and their components much less burdensome. Some developers even publish their own edits on the source codes for others to use in their projects.

Community-driven. Most commercial C M S's are supported and co-developed by members of their communities. This makes their products closer and more responsive to the needs of users and their respective clients. These communities also regularly create and publish extensions and add_ons, such as themes, templates, modules and applications, through official and third party-sites. Many can be downloaded for free.

Highly Extensible. C M S-based websites start out like a blank canvass that can be given almost any kind of identity and functionality. They can accommodate different types of extensions to produce anything from a corporate intranet, a news portal, a government services site to a university website. Examples of note include sports and entertainment site like word wresting entertainment.

There are more than 16,000 extensions and add-o n s available to-date, with more being developed each day. If what you need for your website cannot be sourced, your professional developer can create it for you.

Easily Transferable. Website development can be easily transferred from one developer to another. If you have a found more acceptable service provider, you can transfer your site to them without much technical hitches.

User-friendly. Administration for site owners like you comes easy because most C M S's are equipped with a WYSIWYG editor. Often, only word processing skills are required.

Built-in Features. Many websites are given the following built-in features:

search engine optimization-friendly URL's and/or ready support for Search engine Optimize -enabling extensions;
Support for multiple languages;
They are also bundled with multiple levels of site administration
End-user help guides.

With C M S web design services, you don't get what you pay for-you get even more! For just a minimal cost, you get a robust, feature-rich website that can put you at par with the best in terms of online services. You can have the site of your dreams deployed in no time, whether it be an internal corporate portal, an online store or community forums. Start your C M S website today!
